Parents may compete for custody and placement, or they may be stuck on something which happened in the past, and, perhaps, someone may feel disrespected. An assessment of the conflict and those involved will determine how the matter might be resolved.
Mediators can help parents work it out.
Through mediation and conflict coaching, parents may be able to see other perspectives besides the one in which they're stuck. When people are stuck in their point of view, creativity and possibilities are constrained. The use of a neutral third party can assist with a conversation for resolution by skillfully intervening, when appropriate, to facilitate effective communication. People in conflict must be able to listen to each other in order to solve their problems.
