Sometimes parents may compete for custody and placement, or they may be stuck on something which happened in the past, and, perhaps, someone may feel disrespected. An assessment of the conflict and those involved will determine how the matter might be resolved.
Through mediation and conflict coaching, parents may be able to see another perspective. When people are stuck in their point of view, creativity and possibilities may be constrained. The use of a neutral third party can assist with a conversation for resolution by skillfully intervening, when appropriate, to facilitate effective communication. People in conflict must be able to hear each other in order to solve their problem.
Mediators can help parents work it out.
